Review of The Last Exorcism (2010) by Julian T — 31 Dec 2011
Not bad by any means, but offers nothing original. If you've seen 'The Exorcist', 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose', or any other exorcism movie, you've already seen this. The handheld camera angle is, again, cool but mundane.
The acting is capable, the script is solid, and it is handled quite well from the director's chair. The highlight is the ending, which (again not particularly original, and not particularly unexpected) separates it a little bit from a complete cookie-cutter horror film.
While this is a well enough constructed film, I can't give it high marks due to what is simply a total lack of originality, creativity, and flair.
