I can't believe I'm saying this but this is a really good found footage film. The reasons and actions of those involved are realistic and allow the viewer to really connect with what is going on on screen.
Fabian does a fantastic job as the preacher. He's likeable, real and crosses both the world of the divine and the heathen allowing audiences to emphasize with him quite easily.
The film is a slow build in narrative, suspense and character development and this works very well for a picture of this nature. It's clearly a character driven piece with only mild emphasis placed on the supernatural and scares.
Most beef with this film would probably come from the ending which is sudden, surprising and left unexplored. You need to fill in the blanks yourself as the viewer and luckily there is enough information given during the course of the film to do so. Unfortunately, it's the fact that you don't actually get to see or follow what you know to be going on and this can leave some people feeling unfullfilled.
