Review of The Last Exorcism (2010) by Dann M — 06 Mar 2013
A smart and well-crafted film, The Last Exorcism is an intense and exciting dramatic thriller. Filmed as a documentary, a former exorcist sets out to expose exorcism as a hoax but comes up against a case that puts him to the test.
The storytelling's especially good, and does an exceptional job at developing the plot and at setting a realistic tone. The character development is also well-done, and helps to draw the audience into the film.
The Last Exorcism avoids many of the tropes of the horror genre and presents a uniquely compelling vision that's full of intrigue.
