The Last Exorcism is a strong and suspenceful Horror film in the vein of The Exorcist and it is very unsettling and creepy and entertaining as well. The plot of this film is about a preacher name Reverend Cotton Marcus who receives a letter from the Sweetzer family about they're daughter possessed which reveals that every animal died in the farm house they live and when Reverend and his friends head for the farm Reverend soon discovers the truth about the demon that is inside of Nell Sweetzer and it is up to Reverend Cotton Marcus to save Nell from the devil Abalam in order to free her from the demon once and for all.

To be honest this was a great movie and I saw the sequel first before I watched this film. I didn't have any problems with this movie and it has all of the goodies and jolts and thrills that were in The Exorcist and it also has a couple of elements from 2012's The Devil Inside and I totally adore this movie and I enjoyed watching it a lot and it is a great movie overall.

What's great about The Last Exorcism is that the whole film is shot in an impressive found footage style and the found footage style in this film is great and I think this movie seriously surpass The Devil Inside although I still like The Devil Inside even though there were a few flaws within the movie and I seriously enjoyed watching this movie because it has a good pace and the film never gets boring at all which is what I like in the movie a lot.

But unlike this movie the sequel was shot in a movie style rather than a fund footage style like this movie but I think in my opinion is that both films are great even though they were shot in different styles like this movie is shot in a found footage style while its sequel was shot in a movie style rather than a found footage style.

The other things I like about The Last Exorcism is that the whole film has a lot of impressive lighting used within the whole movie although the film itself is not as atmospheric as its sequel because this film is more on suspense rather than atmosphere at least I still like the atmosphere in this movie even though its not enough.

The other things I also like about this film is that the whole film is full of suspenceful scenes like the performing of the first exorcism on Nell in the bed which is probably one of the most suspenceful parts of the film.

The scenes with Nell walking in the house is totally creepy and unnerving. The barn exorcism scene is probably the most intense part of the film and it is very similar to the exorcism scene in The Exorcism Of Emily Rose where Emily Rose gets exorcised by a priest and the finale is one of the most intense parts of the whole movie and I also enjoy a couple of gross out scenes like Nell vomiting worms is one of the most disgusting parts of the whole movie and overall the gross out and scare scenes are well used in this movie.

Now the acting is great the casts did a really good job with their performances in the film. Ashley Bell did a good job with her role in the film as the possessed girl Nell Sweetzer and she was damn scary in both first movie and its sequel and her performance is very close to Linda Blair in The Exorcist and her looks in certain parts where she's not acting possessed is great and she looks gorgeous and very pretty in those parts of the film while the rest of the casts did a really good job as well with their work in the film and overall the casts did an amazing job with their work in the film so far.

Director Daniel Stamm did a very good job with his work on the film so far and I don't understand why he didn't make the sequel because the sequel was directed by Ed Gass Donnelly if Daniel Stamm directed the sequel also I would be amazed with it but I think Daniel Stamm did a wonderful job with his work on this film a lot and thanks to producer Eli Roth they both managed to create a strong Horror film and I hope that Eli Roth directs another Horror film after he made three terrible Horror films which is Cabin Fever and Hostel 1 and 2 now I ended up being amazed with him when he produced this movie and I hope Eli Roth makes a good movie in the future and I also can't wait for Daniel Stamm's work on the Martyrs remake.

Overall The Last Exorcism gets a 10/10 because the whole film is very close to The Exorcist and has all of the jolts and thrills of that film.
