Review of The Last Exorcism (2010) by Doug B — 25 Sep 2013

Nell (played by Ashley Bell) is so vibrant and sweet at the start of this film that its truly heartbreaking to see a demon twist and torment her as this film develops. Not that horrifying but definitely disturbing and exhausting.

This film ends in a way that basically says great evils are out there and there is not much you can do about it other than try to stay away from and hope you never have to face them. Shines an unflattering light on religious practices and raises suspicions that vile deeds are committed disguised as "the lord's work".

Solid performances, effective scares, efficient production, provokes thought and induces conversation.
