Review of The Last Emperor (1987) by Tim S — 08 Nov 2009
Good movie, gives a great image of emperor without any power, a puppet in the hands of others. He is locked up in his beautiful forbidden city while the rest of China changes every day.
A lot of people will think this movie is boring and lasts way too long, so this isn't a movie for everybody.
Great cinematography, locations (Forbidden City is beautiful, visited it last summer, nice to think back of what I saw there), acting, music...
If you want to know something more about the last chinese emperor you have to see this one. But this isn't a movie for a big crowd I'm affraid.
