High quality epic, I admit I wasnt too excited to see this, the subject matter didnt really interest me, but since it won a shit ton of oscars I figured id check it out, I was definitely surprised by how much I enjoyed it, it keeps it at the human level, not dealing with generals and politics, but with the emperor growing up, and how his life is as a kid in the forbidden city, and then as a young man after he's forced out, I had no idea really on how china was during this time period and their customs, I found it all very interesting and never boring or confusing, it looks great with great shots of the forbidden city, a great score, and good acting by everyone, it may look long and boring, but if you give it a shot you wont be disappointed.
