Review of The Last Duel (2021) by Dee-Jay_Deli — 03 Dec 2021
Good film, and more engaging than I expected, but I can see why it bombed at the box office:
It's not a movie with a broad appeal. It's a historical movie (duh) but mainly focused on a single event. It doesn't have much action and retells the same story three times over, before ending in the climax.
It has a not so subtle meassage about how awful life was for women.
All these things don't really make for a "great night out at the movies", but the film still works, despite.
And I guess we have Ridley Scott to thank for that.
