Review of The Last Detail (1973) by James F — 09 Jan 2014
Probably one of Jack Nicholson's lesser known movies, it has him as part of a security detail escorting a young kleptomaniac Naval rating from their Virginia base to prison in New England. Deciding en-route that the rating deserves one "last night", they take him on a slightly circuitous route, stopping off at New York and Washington and numerous drinking establishments.
Very much a typical buddy road movie, with a slightly more believable ending than the usual fare. Recommended viewing should the opportunity arise.
