Review of The Last Detail (1973) by Dave M — 15 Sep 2007
"Badass" Buddusky makes this movie kick serious ass. I found a seventies film that's script was ahead of its time, and wasn't afraid to use real language and create some fantastically colorful characters. I regretfully am only just now discovering Hal Ashby who died far too soon because his honest and touching films seem like a hidden gem and thanks to films like Superbad and Knocked Up, I've finally been called to their attention. Best line in the film:
"You're shittin me?".
"I ain't gonna shit you. You're my favorite turd.".
