Review of The Last Detail (1973) by Jeremy B — 15 Aug 2009
The Last Detail (1973) -- [6.0] -- Jack Nicholson and Otis Young play two navy men escorting a young prisoner (Randy Quaid) across country to the brig, where he'll serve several years behind bars for a petty crime.
Nicholson and Young decide to give the poor kid the best time of his life, complete with booze and hookers, before their road trip comes to its inevitable end. It's a bittersweet film, plainly told, with an Oscar-nominated performance from Nicholson.
