Review of The Last Days on Mars (2013) by Primo V — 30 Nov 2013
This film was such a huge disappointment. There is absolutely nothing new that it offers up. A rehash-mash-up of the original films THE THING, ALIEN and any zombie movie ever made. Add so much reddish dust as a character in-and-of-itself as a prop to try and cover up the weak storyline & I just wasted $10 on ON DEMAND to watch one of my favorite actors pick up a paycheck for what must be an embarrassing bad choice after doing such a great turn in the new Ray Donovan series.
And, since this follows up the most brilliant visually exciting outer space film EVER made now - GRAVITY - the ending is just, well....irresponsible to the viewing audience at best. Somewhere near the ending a character comments, "we've seen things that no one has seen before.
" He couldn't possibly be talking about this film though because we've already seen just about everything several times over. Really pathetic all around.
