Review of The Last Days (2013) by Ola G — 09 Oct 2015
A mysterious epidemic spreads across the planet. Humanity develops an irrational fear of open spaces that causes instant death. Soon, the world population is trapped inside buildings. As Barcelona descends into chaos, Marc (Quim Gutiérrez) sets off on a quest to find Julia (Marta Etura), his missing girlfriend, without ever going outside...
"Los Ultimos Dias" is a post apocalyptic sci- fi movie touching base with movies such as "The Road" and "Blindness". The foundation of the story has a simple premise: what if, one day, for unknown reasons humans are unable to survive out in the open? How would we survive and how would be move forward in life The acting is good, the vibe is intense and the eerie atmosphere is chilling, the cinematography plus the special effects are alright and you get engaged in the storyline. But, despite the fact with a promising story and solid direction from David and Alex Pastor, "Los Ultimos Dias" still ends up as something that passed one eye and out the other and it didn´t leave a good enough mark in my mind as I had hoped.
