Review of The Last Castle (2001) by William H — 06 Feb 2010
To have James Gandolfini successfully portray ANY character that's not named Tony Soprano, and make you think he's a wuss at the same time, is a feat all onto itself!
Robert Redford's character is a genius in this movie:
While the warden is cracking down, and asserting his authority as an abusive leader of this military prison, Robert Redford's character is getting these former soldiers to start thinking like chess players, to have respect for themselves and to ultimatley- get the warden fired. And the warden never quite figures out the convicted general's strategy.
Though most of this movie is about a cerebral battle, the last 20 minutes are the best: a cool prison riot scene with lots of action!
