Review of The Last Boy Scout (1991) by Nyk P — 30 May 2010
I'm a fan of Shane Black. The dude loves to poke fun at the very genre he writes, and the movie's are usually always fun as a result. The only drawback to characters that are so obviously self-referencing is that it's hard to really get into the story.
The action's there, the movie's funny, but it's lacking the real drama, like that of his other movie, Lethal Weapon. Dare I also say that Damon Wayans wasn't quite up to the acting challenge.
Still, Bruce Willis is forever a bad ass, so the movie has that going for it.
