Review of The Last Airbender (2010) by Taylor B — 24 Aug 2015
I felt this movie wasn't as bad as all the reviews have led me to believe. There are things that I would'nt have chosen to do myself, like alot of the casting and direction of the movie. My gripe about the casting has nothing to do with race except with kitara and sakka.
I found it funny that those two and the grandmother where the only caucasions in the village. If they took the time to explain that (if I remember correctly from the show) their mother was native to the northen water nation, who were basically caucasion, it might have made a little sence.
What they attempted was to spread the different nationalities accross the globe, which was a nice try. I'm sure if they make book 2:earth you'll see more asians, then maybe some will be happy.
One other problem was that its hard to translate a whole season in under two hours, so it still felt rushed and made the dialoge that much harder to take, and it would help to have better actors as well.
All in all I enjoyed the movie, not horrible but also not great.
