Review of The Last Airbender (2010) by Gina M — 20 Mar 2014
While the 3D was useless (it truly felt like watching a 2D DVD), the movie itself shines. It is aimed at a younger audience, the intended audience of the source material obviously, but is also enjoyable to older fans of the show.
The problem this movie faces is that it is too short, the studio should have taken the risk and fit in more of what makes season 1 so successful. Things at times feel cramped. The cast is awesome, the cinematography is beautiful, and the story moves and intrigues you.
All the hating is coming from stuffy critics who are not interested in the point of this movie or who it is for. If you like the show, or like epic fantasy films, just go see it and ignore the bad reviews.
