Review of The Last Airbender (2010) by Freedomfighters — 24 Nov 2016

Remember how I mention that the most talked-about stinker of 2009 was "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?" Well, in 2010, "The Last Airbender" held that title. Hated by critics, hated by fans, the winner of numerous Razzies, you name it, "The Last Airbender" was bashed, bruised, beaten and destroyed by pretty much everybody.

And while I didn't hate it as much as everyone else did, I fully acknowledge that it's not good, and even though my 11-year old self was fine with the film (thank you, flashy visuals and action scenes and my lower standards), I now see what makes it so bad.

The plot is not good, the characters are forgettable, and the acting is pretty bad as well. And even as someone that never really watched the cartoon (exile me all you want), you don't need to watch the show to see how bad it is.

In fact, if you watched the show first, it will probably make the film even worse for you. If you can completely turn your brain off for this one, you might find something to enjoy, and if you're a kid that never watched the show, you'll probably like it, but otherwise, "The Last Airbender" is a film that's pretty hard to recommend overall.
