Review of The Last Airbender (2010) by Bethius T — 08 Jul 2013
As a young child I was obsessed with the anime, 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. Even now, at 15 years of age, I think it's a good show. So naturally, when the film came out I was extremely excited.
However, I was totally disappointed with the end result. The characters had changed completely from the anime, becoming much more bland, and the film didn't have the same humour as the TV series. The acting was generally mediocre, and I can honestly say that the only actor who seemed to fit his role was Aasif Mandvi as Commander Zhao.
I will probably watch the sequels, out of pure curiosity, and then proceed to bang my head against the wall several times.
