Another brilliant animated classic by Don Bluth, alongside The Secret of NIMH & Anastasia, that sadly fell to the musical sequel curse. But all those sequels have one thing in common, they all have a 5/10 rating on IMDb.
FUN FACT: This was the first animated film that famed effects animator Michel Gagne was credited on. Gagne worked as an uncredited assistant animator on An American Tail after his work on the short film "A Touch Of Deceit" at Sheridan College.
