Review of The Land Before Time (1988) by Kieran F — 15 Jan 2012

Of all the children's Movies NOT MADE by Disney this is one of my favorites and I always loved the way Spielberg was able to create such an amazing master piece that could entertain children and adults alike for YEARS. My only in low in the story is this: I thought that the story was a little short(Granted it's a children's type movie and isn't MEANT to be long but I thought they could've added a little more into it) But it was still good(the story and film) because I loved how it dealt(subtle) with Racism and (more so) overcoming problems and growing up in life. In all honesty this is one of the few. VERY FEW. cartoon films where I found myself Crying when certain parts of the story happened. And ALSO I thought that the Land Before Time Name got over used. After the 2nd it just got ridiculous. Kinda like how Police Academy and many others before(and after in some cases) got over maid(You know Police Academy 1-9, Halloween 1-7, THIS 1-12(?) ) it got kinda dumb and repatative(Espically these) when they would beat the moral over the head of you.

All in all I enjoyed this film and still do but have to say if you looked at ALL the LBT this and MAYBE the first 2 sequals are the only good ones.
