Review of The Lake House (2006) by Darren P — 24 Jul 2011
I expected to hate this, but somehow, in spite of its complete disregard for having any sense of consistent time-travel rules, logic or just characters who aren't idiots (they can send messages 2 years back in time and they never once even think to use it to win the lottery and split the winnings), BUT, my sappy side seemed to click with it.
I saw enough parallels with it and my own life to become emotionally invested in it, and to be fair to it, it wasn't ever boring.
So there you go. A stupid film, but something of a guilty pleasure and one that I would probably consider to be one of my favourites if I was a girl and not interested enough in film to have come to appreciate them properly.
Still. It was much better than The Time Traveller's Wife.
6/10.
