Review of The Lair of the White Worm (1988) by Tiara C — 10 Jul 2007
A film seemingly written by mastabatory teenagers for mastabatory teenagers, Ken Russell's career long trajectory into utter schlock reaches its apex (or should that be trough?) here. It has a maddeningly camp charm and it's refreshing, in this era of focus group editing and commissioning, to think that sui generis films like this could once not only get funding, but a theatrical release.
Still, it remains a mystery as to whether Ken Russell is actually serious or not about this admittedly diverting bilge.
