Review of The Ladykillers (2004) by Dave H — 10 Aug 2009

Well, obviously this film is a remake, but this time by the Coen Brothers. And actually it's well better than its reputation as in my opinion this is way underrated in many ways. Tom Hanks has never been my favorite actor, but he delivers a really decent performance this time.

Visuals and dialogue, everything has been thought through and even if some things are problematic, the end-result still feels really complete. Still, probably it's the very Coen Brothers like strange humor, which is not everybody's cup of tea here.

Also, this feels even better after several viewings, at least I have started to like it even more the more often I've seen it. Very recommendable at least for Coen Bros fans.
