Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by Vivian L — 12 Jul 2010
Subjected to a hideous remake, Hitchcock's next British romantic thriller is a feast for the--- guilty pleasures! Some plot elements are still "amateur" but what are we supposed to think and interpret when they are placed as such on purpose? Hitchcock holds the answer in this semi-racist, intense, suspenseful and ultimately nonsensical masterpiece of unparalleled proportions. Unquestionably among the director's Top 5 along with The 39 Steps.
100/100.
