Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by Jon D — 05 Aug 2010
A witty, engaging and delightful film from the master of suspense. With an excellent (and very prophetic) script by Launder & Gilliat, The Lady Vanishes is instantly likeable with an effective cast and colourful characters which bitterly make characateurs of every political force in 1930s Europe.
Humour runs through the script in droves, and every character has their moments, but Charters and Caldicott (the two cricket fans), steal the show!
