Review of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) by Nick C — 16 Aug 2007
I get the feeling that this movie was poorly handled by the studio. Apparently it was cut down from 2hrs. 20 mins, to 90 mins. So to say the least this movie felt a little rushed, or like an incomplete thought.
Rita Hayworth was smokin', and the fun house scene at the end was great. Stylistically it was very nice, but if I said I thought it was great overall I would be lying. See it if you're really into the genre (supposedly its one of the first Film Noirs) or if you dig Rita Hayworth, classic femme fatale.
