Review of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) by Brian M — 05 Oct 2007
Welles's classic noir manages to survive its studio slashing, retaining some of cinema's most memorable moments. Despite its source material, this film could have been one of cinema's great works of art - what remains must be seen as a remarkably interesting and creative experiment with sound and direction.
Unforgettably Welles.
