Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by James G — 21 Oct 2009
An emotional tale of loyalty and integrity set in the troubling landscape of Afghanistan. Whilst the first section of the story is moving, disquieting and all too engrossing, the second panders to stereotypes (think the bad guys in Team America) and all is a little too convenient, but redemption feels satisfying if not wholly deserved.
