Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by Rasha A — 20 Nov 2009
Well.... I thought the film was good ..and really good only if one hadn't read the book ...I thought it was just a little taste of what was in the book ...made me think if I had such a great book ..I think I would be hesitant to turn it into a film ...coz no matter how good the film was it can never do justice to the book's grandeur ..like this one ...it was really good but way less charming than the book.
The events happened fast and they lacked the depth that was in the book ...and one great scene at the end that made me cry was omitted ..I was really angry about it (when Sohrab attempted to commit suicide ) ....but the embodiment of the characters and places was really good ...I so much liked Amir Agha ..though I could tell from the first scene that he wasn't an afghan n when I looked him up I figured he was an Egyptian :) ..
I think it's a remarkable film that doesn't just pass without leaving a trace coz it's such a great story :).
