Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by Ghada A — 22 Nov 2009
A beautifully acted, compelling story about the way shame can scar a family, set against the struggles of the Afghan people. Homayoun Ershadi, as Amir's father, was superb, acting his role with dignity and compassion, and always looking the part, whatever the age of his character.
This film tugs on the heartstrings, then concludes with a nicely-balanced ending and the planting of a small seed of hope.
