Being a high school student, I can attest to the fact that a large portion of the movie was fairly accurate compared to ACTUAL high school life. The fact of the dress code issues, harassment for clothing, being hit on constantly, and losing a best friend to a significant other are 100% accurate.
The only issue I have with the entire film is how Elle's character development doesn't really seem to fit quite right. One minute, she hates a guy, the next they're fine? Not very normal. Also a constant flow of parties and the availability of showing off girls in bikinis in a yearbook? Both are extremely unlikely.
