The fact that this movie almost exclusively comprised of cliches and poor writing isn't the worst part. That would be how it seems to normalize sexual assault and even tries to romanticize abuse. It's worrying that this was meant for teenaged girls, and even more worrying that it was considered successful enough to get a sequel.
