Review of The King's Speech (2010) by Brenda A — 15 Sep 2012
Fantastic job Mr. Darcy ummm Mr. Firth. I enjoyed seeing him stutter and stammer and exude charm and wit through it all. Helena Bonham Carter was surprisingly matronly with no evidence of brooding evil eyes, just a believable sweet support of her husband that made her seem humane.
Geoffrey Rush was marvelous as the unaffected-by-social-status speech therapist in the middle of the struggle. Highly recommended unless you talk during a great scene or text in the dark...please stay home!!
