Review of The King's Speech (2010) by Ben L — 24 Nov 2015
It's among the most generic and predictable Best Picture winners in Oscar history. Hooper's win as best director is even more baffling. Is this to say THE KING'S SPEECH is without its merits? Not at all.
The gorgeous cinematography and art direction make it compelling in a visual sense, and the cast are all at the top of their games. But I'm yet another film fan who thinks The Social Network should have won Best Picture, Best Director, AND Best Actor.
