Review of The Kings of Summer (2013) by Forrest M — 14 Jul 2013
This has a very similar premise as "Mud", but feels and functions quite differently. This is the light-hearted and funny version of "Mud", which is good in some ways but fails in that you don't seem to get too attached to the characters that have emotional battles which results in you not feeling for them.
Moises Is the comedic relief, and fulfills that role quite well. Sometimes he went a little overboard and it was reminiscent of his Disney TV days, which I resented. The vast majority of his screen time, however, kept the fun and weird vine going.
Overall it is hilarious and quite an enjoyabke story is told. One of my favorites of the year so far.
