Despite the title, "The Kings of Summer" does not rule over the summer movie season. The acting is great and the story is good but there is an attempt to get artistic through metaphoric visuals that become annoying near the end.
It is the story of two teen boys who get annoyed with their parents and decide to run away. They go into the wood to build their own house with the help of a third teen boy that gets pick up like a stray pet looking for a home.
Toss the popcorn in the microwave at home for this one.
