Review of The Kings of Summer (2013) by Erik B — 20 Sep 2013
Not your average coming of age film. Quirky, but not awkward. And the humour, witty and extremely subtle. The shots of nature inbetween scenes were beautiful, felt like a National Geographic documentary, and having the actors interact with that was just stunning.
I think the film portrays the eagerness for kids to become adults, and how naive they are in the ways to achieve that really well. Kudos on the retro soundtrack too, really different and original.
