"The Kings of Summer" tries really hard. To as be honest as its other indie comrades. To be as thoughtful as its other indie comrades. To be as insightful as its other indie comrades. What ends up coming out is a non-entertaining, dishonest, completely un-funny and unoriginal attempt at being an indie darling.
Though starring a talented ensemble, "The Kings of Summer" is one of those movies where the trailer was for more exciting.
