Review of The Kingdom (2014) by Prue H — 28 Mar 2010

This action drama movie is about a team of Uinted States government agents that are sent to Saudi Arabia to investigate a bombing that happened on U.S. territory. Jennifer Garner and Jamie Foxx played the lead roles of FBI agents trying to prevent the bombings from continuing.

I like this movie because it seemed like a realistic situation. Although I have not seen too many Jamie Foxx movies and I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Garner I thought they played the roles extremely well.

There were alot of elements that kept me on the edge of my seat and the ending was a suprise because it had a twist. You can really get a sense of how difficult it must have been for the American agents to get anything accomplished being in a country where they are hated and no one is willing to help them.

I enjoyed this film and would reccomend it.This film has gotten positive and negative feedback. It did okay at the box office but eventually made more money over time with dvd sales. Although I enjoyed it there were many who found it flawed.

I do agree it was a little hard to accept that Jennifer Garner could pull off being a hard core FBI agent and the fact that she was walking around in a tank top most of the time made it hard to believe it was realistic becuase all women are required to cover their entire bodies in Saudi Arabia American or not.

Other critiques have been that the script was weak and there wasnt enough character development. I didnt end up going to see this in theaters becuase I thought it didnt look that interesting enough to actually go to the movies which I'm guessing alot of people did.

I think if it was marketed better and I had a better understanding of the plot I would have taken the time to go see it,but overall I did enjoy it.
