Review of The Kingdom (2014) by Raymond G — 27 Nov 2011
This movie is a realist thriller that mixes crowd-pleasing mayhem with provocative politics. Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner were at their best! Seeing Jennifer tackle and finish off one terrorist made me remember her from one of my favorite shows, "Alias".
The beggining may shock and surprise the hell out of you with its brash and bold opening however. The most disheartening concept of such a search-and-destroy terrorist mission, like the one depicted, is much like what happens with the mythical Hydra creature: when you decapitate one of its heads, another grows right back.
So with that said, it leaves you with a sense of dread and uneasiness towards the end... "We're gonna kill them all". It's like this never ending cylcle of terrorism will never end and, unfotunately, it seems like that's a reality we all might have to face.
