Review of The Kingdom (2007) by Adam M — 26 Jul 2009
A decent and enjoyable film.
Along the same lines as Black Hawk Down but without as much action and a more modern terrorist theme.
A decent plot line makes it enjoyable. However the characters are poorly created and seem to be stereotypes rather than actual people. And Jason Bateman is his typical "Arrested Development" type character which adds a seemingly comic element to an otherwise serious film.
As a single minded Saturday night film it works but if you want something serious go for things like Black Hawk Down and Jarhead, there just better films.
