Review of The Kingdom (2007) by Ajeesh V — 24 Sep 2009

I really enjoyed this movie. Not to different from the war dramas we are seeing more and more of nowadays. This movie mainly rides on a great story, which kind of sets it apart from the standard war drama.

But the actors, namely Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, and Jason Bateman, help the story along. I have never been a fan of Garner, she is good in this movie but, there is just something about her that I don't like.

The direction is good but not great. I felt that at the end of the movie, in the big action sequence, the director started to loose control of the scene. But overall this is a very good movie, it deals with modern issues of war/terrorism and is just a great story.
