Review of The Kingdom (2007) by Larry S — 03 Jan 2012
The Kingdom is one intense explosive drama that takes us into Saudi Arabia, into the middle of a an investigation after a terrorist attack kills hundreds within a U.S operated compound in the middle east.
The last 20 minutes of this film keep you breathless, and you can almost smell the dirt and smoke from the barrels of these guns. Jamie Foxx once again shows us why he is one of the most talented African American actors in Hollywood (next to Will Smith and Denzel Washington) the supporting acts by Christ Cooper, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Batemen are oscar worthy.
I had heard this film was fantastic, and was only able to catch it on the big screen days from its DVD release. Though this one may not be fantastic for re-watch after re-watch, but the first time is unbelievable.
This only opens our eyes too all these CNN reports we hear of daily that carry no more depth then we can imagine without an inside look into a middle eastern world. All in all, one fantastic, action packed, nerve racking drama that everyone who is interested in middle eastern affairs should see.
