Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Peter A — 10 Jun 2009
Amazing documentary about retro video games obsessives who will go to great lengths to claim the world record score. This involves subterfuge, cheating and childish posturing. The characters of the players, Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe are perfectly shown as opposites, one a 'rock star' who tours with his reputation and the other a normal teacher who ignores his family playing Donkey Kong 24/7.
By the end you will be rooting for one of these guys and the vindication comes right at the end after the credits. Watch this but be glad you have a life. Andy O, over to you lol.
