Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Zane T — 23 Jul 2009
I'm not really sure I would like to be in the same room with someone like Billy Mitchell, but I know people just like him. Smug, self-important and so full of himself. Mitchell claims he is the god of Donkey Kong and other games like Pac-Man.
In comes Steve Wiebe, another grown-up nerd, who is obsessive compulsive. He wants to dethrone Mitchell's Donkey Kong score. It's so outrageous it could be an episode of the Big Bang Theory, but it is the truth.
While the filmmakers have admitted to fudging a few facts, that is not important, what is important is the way these middle age men act. They are no different from the people who are into sports or muscle cars, etc.
All men, in some way or another, are just big kids unable to grow up.
