Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Dan K — 02 Sep 2009
One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Good and evil duel it out in front of a backdrop of endearing losers. The characters really draw you in and soon you're completely invested in what is essentially teenage arcade drama.
Nonetheless, you find yourself fiercely rooting for some guy stuck in time (think a Coney Island arcade circa 1981) to hit the high score on a 30 year old video game. That's some good storytelling and character development! Again, a fun movie and well worth seeing.
