Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Robin P — 17 Oct 2009
King of Kong turned out to be much better than I expected as I had been resisting for sometime to watch this documentary. I was pleasantly surprised by the documentary, which is based on the war for the high score of Donkey Kong.
While this tickles the geek in all of us, you feel for Steve and his unending quest to attain recognition for his achievement against the forces of Billy Mitchell, who is tapped and groomed as the ultimate bad guy.
While there were a few editing errors, (ie showing Steve playing Donkey Kong and but the console top is clearly a DK Jr. box,) it's not really too annoying and the documentary that plays out more like a film is compelling and top notch.
