Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Sean C — 08 Feb 2010
This is an interesting documentary that is full of nostalgia. it tells the true story of the world record holder of the highest Donkey Kong score, a contender and the lengths to which the former went to keep his record from being broken. it contains themes of success, competitive nature and the obsession some people have with being "the best." it was crafted in a way to favor one protagonist over another, so it makes me want to do some fact-checking.
I'm just amazed that Donkey Kong, a video game that was released in the early 80s, still had competitive tournaments as lately as 2006.
