Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Stuart A — 16 Mar 2010
In a nutshell, its a documentary about two oddballs obsessed with claiming the Donkey Kong world record Hi-Score as their own. However, the bizarre gaming community they inhabit and the supporting cast of cranks therein guarantees a constant torrent of gripping scenes and classic lines.
Mix that up with a quality soundtrack and tons of early eighties footage and you've gold a solid gold cock of a film! Also, in Billy Mitchell, this documentary possesses one of the greatest screen villains of ALL time.
Loved it!!
